The Fighting Game Community. Good fucking lord.
This is why in regards to fighting games, I will only post here, and on 2old2play. SRK and Eventhubs are just full of these fucking space cadets. |

this guy I hope he is never at another event or is just constantly flogged at them |
FGC, stay fucking free.
|
And Marn's a bitch like I always imagined. Never had anything concrete until now. Very shocked at Aris, I liked him and followed his tenure at Tekken tournies. But this shit was out of control.
Like you guys have said, it's not even the actual offense, but the reaction from the FGC. |

She was in a sticky situation, it's really not so easy to do something about it right then and there.
|
Mmmm...Excuses.
|
Cue Roxer saying something involving "apologetics"
|
It's no fun to make fun of you if you beat me to it :(
|
Is there any real point in "making fun" of someone who doesn't find it at all problematic?

Aris "Aris" Bakhtanians Releases Statement on Recent Comments
The man at the center of this week's controversial remarks regarding sexual harassment in the fighting game community speaks out and apologizes. By Patrick Klepek | Feb. 29, 2012 http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/9..._pm_middle.png Aris "Aris" Bakhtanians, leader of Team Tekken, was largely silent as events unfolded today. While reporting yesterday's story about leading members of the fighting game community discussing the issue of sexual harassment in the fighting game scene, I reached out to the parties involved. Besides Capcom, all silently declined. The comments took place during Capcom's Cross Assault reality show, a competition acting as a promotion for next week's Street Fighter X Tekken. In the stream, Twitch.tv community manager Jared Rea brought up the issue of sexually inappropriate language alienating potential fans of the fighting scene, and a debate ensued. It's best if you just read what happened next. Miranda “Super_Yan” Pakozdi, member of Team Tekken and the female participant at the center of this, chose not to talk to me. Aris "Aris" Bakhtanians, the male coach of Team Tekken attributed with the questionable commentary, did the same. A few moments ago, however, Bakhtanians reached out to me over email, and released a brief statement. I asked Bakhtanians if he'd be willing to talk about the situation at length, but he unfortunately declined the opportunity. His full statement is featured below: I understand that I said some controversial statements on the Cross Assault show, and a lot of people are deeply offended with what was said. When I made these statements, I was very heated as I felt that the culture of a scene I have been a part of for over 15 years was being threatened. I unfortunately used extreme examples in the heat of the moment and feel that my statements don’t actually communicate how I feel. This is similar to what people say when they get into an argument with their girlfriend, and they say things that they deeply regret. I sincerely apologise if I have offended anyone. My statements do not reflect those of Capcom or myself. The last thing I want to do is get them in trouble for giving me and the fighting game community the opportunity to have an amazing show like this. It's unlikely, however, Bakhtanians' statement alone will put this issue to rest. I've received an enormous amount of feedback since the story ran, and I'm still filtering through the comments from both inside and outside the fighting game community. I'm setting up interviews as we speak. We'll revisit this soon. http://www.giantbomb.com/news/aris-a...comments/4007/ |
Yeah, I'm not really a perv, honest!
Where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, just about everyone who's ever been caught saying stupid shit. |
I love how one of the very first examples of him being creepy is "can I smell you?". Like this is a chronological laundry list of inappropriateness and that's at the very top.
Like I don't even think hookers would enjoy that. I think if you asked a professional sex worker to merely smell her, she would be weirded out by it. And he opens with it to a girl he doesn't really know. I imagine at the very least that smelling a prostitute would have to cost an extra premium that I don't think a man like that can afford. Maybe because of these hard economic times he's now relegated to asking normal girls this and is getting zero luck on the dating scene. Poor guy :( |
Right, so the guy's an Iop type basement dweller that doesn't like to go outside except he's a loudmouth instead of a pussy?

Setting gamers back a good half century, regardless of when gaming started.

Funny thing is that more girls than ever are into this shit. Like hardcore. I know more girls who game than don't, come to think of it.

Too bad that apology is basically false considering other places and the community itself managed to dig up a ton of times he's gone on the record or shared his opinions and each time it was what he really felt than being in the "heat of the moment."
Supposedly even Capcom knew of his past record involving stuff like this and still had him on the show due to his status in the competitive fighting community which is why Capcom also is getting criticized badly for the decision. They also waited until Day 2 to actually get involved and apologize while also considering kicking out the female contestant because she quit a match involving Bakhtanians. |
That dude is a total cock stain. He's probably never been laid in his life.

Wow that guy has a killer beard (I didnt read anything in the thread lol) |
"lol"?

I wish I had a beard like that :(
|
Because that would help with your confidence problem?
|
I don't. I'm quite happy with my goatee that I have. I can't imagine the amount of time that must be spent in maintaining proper grooming for a beard like that. Then again, that fat greasy fuck probably never cleans his beard.

I think it's wild that the first thought you'd have about how a guy who looks like that would treat women and act around them, is correct. People tend to subvert visual cues and seeing somebody so transparent and straightforward is odd.

Think so?

Ermax doesn't think so.

Of course it does Funky. All the women want to fuck guys who look like the Brawny paper towel man.
|
Maybe not ALL women but alot of women.
Its like a woman saying, "Yo I want big boobs" and a guy saying "LOL cuz every man wants a woman with huge boobs?". True not all men do, but the same with women and beards imo. Its better than clean shaven for most women thats for sure. |
What makes you think you're correct about this?

Same thing why a man finds attraction for women who are better at giving children. This is why men are attracted to women with bigger hips (easier to give birth) and big boobs (better to feed baby) Again, this is not true for EVERYONE but it id true on a biological/natural level. It comes from evolution to be like this. Come on, u cant tell me this isnt true... |

Sony currently rumored to be dropping the Cell processor for the PS4 in favor of a "fusion" chip produced by AMD.
According to several sources and earlier rumors, Sony is currently in the process of ditching nVidia who worked on the PS3's GPU chip in favor of AMD for the PS4 GPU chip. AMD is rumored to be creating a fusion chip which would allow AMD to work on both the CPU and GPU with the company itself only recently working on such chips in Macs and other devices. The new fusion chip in theory would be a lot more developer friendly than the Cell due to it being closer to the PC-like structure similar to what Microsoft wanted for the Xbox 360 than the overtly complexity the Cell provided. If Sony were to keep a version of the Cell processor for the PS4, they would have to work on it on their own due to IBM canning their work and development of the chip about 2 years ago in favor of a different approach. Other companies in the Cell association have either dropped out or switched focus away from the Cell. In terms of compatibility, it would be very unlikely Sony would offer backwards compatibility to disc-based PS3 games. The recent track record also leans towards them not bothering based on the issues with the PS3 having limited compatibility with the PS2 and the lack of PSP compatibility with the PS Vita. http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/17f0...g/original.jpg http://kotaku.com/5889410/playstatio...-wild-theories ___________________________________________________________ Daily Recap: 1) Blizzard has laid off 600 workers from the company with the majority being unrelated to the current projects in development. http://www.giantbomb.com/news/blizza...elopment/4009/ 2) Zone of the Enders HD Collection set will be having a late 2012 release date for the Xbox 360 and PS3 according to Konami. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...ing-this-fall/ 3) Eurogamer has reported UK retailer GAME have added all EA games after SSX and Mario Party 9 to the growing list of games the retailer chain will not be carrying for sale. http://www.giantbomb.com/news/uk-ret...products/4008/ |
