I remember thinking Henry could be quite good on commentary. A shame he’s not. Sounds like his transition to AEW has not been as smooth as possible.

of the two i think henry still has potential given some time. big show is a lost cause imo. he spends too much time repeating other people or telling them what they said was funny and he's gonna steal it.

I don’t know people think Big Show is funny. He might have a good sense of humor, but anytime I’ve seen him try to get a laugh on a talk show it’s always so forced.

When I saw his name is Kenny Marquez, I cynically thought “token diversity hire.” Then I found out he is apparently part of the LGBT+ community? Yep, it’s definitely tokenism. But as I said, that’s cynical me. Maybe I should just be happy with the representation and optimistic about it all?

Henry and Wight were big signings at the time, both of them obviously way past any type of prime but come with good name value.

They were brought in without very much planning or attention and have absolutely BOMBED everything they have attempted. Sure the fans have started to get into Henry's "it's time for the main event" line, but that could easily be any of the veterans that AEW already works with.


To me guys like that are just forcing you to spend money you don't have to be spending. Maybe the finances are balancing but it's hard to imagine with such a big roster and all that it entails to run a show like AEW does.

Well it seems they took an $8 million dollar loss for the year so its definitely money they don't need to be spending.

In fairness the video game costs are apparently what caused them to take an overall loss and that money has the potential to be recouped after a bit.

Basically my whole opinion on AEW is this...

It's really the only modern wrestling I enjoy.

They have too many undercard talents that I will never be interested in that should be released in favor for the looser contracts they have with indie talents, the tier that doesn't offer insurance.

They've started to accumulate too many older talents that are of no real use. I don't see a point in rolling over the contracts for Paul Wight, Tully Blanchard and Mark Henry.

Please just get rid of a lot of the first round signings like Janela, Sonny Kiss, and Kip Sabian.

I’ll be interested in seeing how many of the first round guys don’t get renewed/choose not to renew. Some guys probably don’t mind being Dark regulars with the ability to take indy bookings as long as they’re getting insurance.

In any event, I’m all aboard the Bayne Train.

The inter webs says Skye Blue is 25, which is older than I thought but I guess it tracks with her career starting in 2017. I’ve been impressed with what I’ve seen of her.

Also she is a QT which helps.
