Defiance 9/10 — Daniel Craig, Liev Schreiber

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defiance_(2008_film)

I thought this was an excellent film. I was a bit hesitant at first about watching it, but glad I did. I love movies based on real events, however loosely, and this one is a great story. Pretty well done and the story is pretty amazing to think about, considering the circumstances. Basically a few brothers seek refuge in the woods of Belorussia when the Germans invade during WWII, and their camp grew to around 1200 people over the span of a couple years.

Total Recall 7/10.

This movie was weird...

Bruno - 6.5/10

A few legit 'LOL moments' but they seemed to be few and far between.

I once made a topic on this film following watching it. Zero replies. Just about over that.

Wanted 6/10

Ludicrous (especially firing bullets around people/corners and such) but good fun nonetheless

Harry Potter: HBP 9/10

Best Potter film yet.

The Firm

-Seriously I finally watched the entire thing as I'd only seen bits and pieces before and its really really good

8/10

PorkSoda 07-16-2009 11:32 PM

Direct Contact - 8/10.

Had alot of action in it, thought it could have been better if there was more hand to hand fight scenes rather than shooting, and an on foot chase scene ratehr than all cars and a motercycle. Still, really good. Hand to hand fighting scenes were done very well. And it stars Dolph Lundgren. He's the man.

About Dolph Lundgren. I gotta see this movie

Command Performance

A Moscow charity concert turns bloody when armed extortionists take the head liner American pop-star Venus and the Russian President with his family hostage. Help is on the way when the drummer of a heavy metal warm-up band, an ex-bad ass biker played by Lundgren, and a young Russian F.S.B. agent team up to fight back. But our two heroes are seriously outnumbered and things aren't as simple as they appear when old ghosts from the Soviet Union appear to haunt the present in this fast paced action piece.

The plot is so unbelievably stupid, it must kick ass.

You do realize that the plot is a complete ficition, and these brothers actually raided villages, raped women, robbed and killed innocent people etc.? Heroes my ass.

Watched a ton of movies over the last day or two.

Underworld Rise of the Lycans - 6/10
I really liked the first two in the series, but this just seemed rushed and really short. There were a couple of good moments but nothing memorable.

The Spirit 8/10
Having never read the comic, I had no idea what I was in for here but Ive liked what Frank Miller has done and this was no exception. I was surprised at the amount of humor involved though. Oh and the mini 24 reunion with Eric Balfour and Louis Lombardi was cool too.

12 Rounds 5/10
5/10 was actually way higher than I figured on, but it was a decent enough action movie with an interesting enough plot that it wasn't outright terrible. Cena wasn't as bad as he was in the Marine but that isnt saying much. At some point after the villian said "play the game" for the 2nd or 3rd time I got the humorous idea that the villian should have been played by HHH.

Push 2/10
I pretty much got lost somewhere between the storyline and all the mumbo jumbo jargon of names for the peoples abilities and whatever (movers, pushers, stichers, sniffers, watchers, bleeders, shifters, wipers, and shadows..). Dakota Fanning trying to act way older than she is was amusing and annoying at the same time. The special effects looked like shit on Blu ray too.

WOO WOO WOO, I want to see this because of her, but I can't go alone for fear of feeling gay. :(

Triple Naitch 07-23-2009 04:42 PM

I went with my girlfriend and we were the oldest people in the theater. Everybody else was about 14 years old. There were like 20 girls and 5 kids that looked like Skippord.

PorkSoda 07-23-2009 07:25 PM

One flew Over the Coo Coo's Nest - 3/10. Uh....it was enjoyable just....nothing too spectacular happened. I've been discovering lately that Jack Nicholson is the man.

Is The Godfather any good?

Bart Got a Room - 7/10. Awkward funny. Nothing spectacular, but good enough to watch.

Fraternity House: -5/10. Yes, a negative number, and I gave it a negative 5 because I didn't get any further than 5 minutes into it.
