Quite an impressive April Fools, I thought.

So they shot that just as a gag??

Seems like a huge waste of money..

being a huge zelda mark, i never want to see a movie made out of it.

on a side note, this was too obvious.

Yeah, it was shown on April 1st, it's scheduled for the next April 1st and the credits at the end of the trailer say "An IGN Entertainment Production".
Plus Shigeru Miyamoto has said they're would never be a Zelda movie.

I'm not sure how much a trailer costs to make but don't IGN make quite a lot of money anyway? Enough to do this as a joke, at least.

They built sets, had decent lighting, nice wardrobe, etc..

That shit prolly cost a good chunk..
