SmackDown was pretty good. I’ve been digging Aleister Black’s work. He’s put all the tools together. Everything seems to work with him right now.
Damian Priest’s connection with the crowd is jeopardized by how his matches are planned out. He seems to always end up in these predicaments where fans want him to do something, but because he’s playing this stoic badass who has the next spot planned, there isn’t room to do anything organic.
He should just destroy some fools for a few weeks and when fans chant “One more time!” after he Chokeslams them, he should actually do it. Then they’ll accept him as one of their guys.
Now that he’s been fireballed in the face, maybe they can bring him back as Black or someone else’s masked henchman? Something to give him a different vibe for a few months.
It’s always fun seeing Nakamura back. I like his new gear. Great match with Sami. Seems he’s an official babyface now. It’s always great hearing how over he is.
I liked the videos for MFT. They’re doing the painted up gimmick I thought Jimmy Uso may have come back with last year. I’m just not feeling the group dynamic together in front of people. The fans performatively reacted when they confronted The Wyatt Sicks. We’ll see how that goes.
