I’m sure all his personal issues will disappear now he is in a stable locker room.

Bound For Glory is en route to sell more tickets than WrestleDream.

The actual All In attendance numbers have come in. WrestleTix was estimating about 27k distributed. 22k showed up. Of the 678 suite tickets sold, 274 showed up. Arlington was going to toss AEW $1 million for the show, but because attendance was significantly lower than expected, they won’t be receiving that much.

Oh, and AEW tried to sweep these numbers under the rug. They actively want to lie about how popular they aren’t.

I haven't even read the results for AEW in about 2 months, let alone watch anything they have done. Good riddance.

The AEW picture book came out and it accidentally buries NJPW and CMLL. Fantastic.

David Zaslav spoke and said that the TNT Sports properties are not big drivers to HBO Max. David Meltzer got on a high horse about how AEW is not considered a part of TNT Sports. It is.

Tony Khan tried to hijack the NWA National Title’s history for himself and had a “very nice conversation” with Billy Corgan. I’m sure no money changed hands and that AEW is definitely profitable.

All doubt can finally end: AEW is dead. Netflix will acquire Warner. That was the worst case of all 3 possible deals for streaming, cinema and wrestling. Truly historic event which will likely kill the theater industry altogether as Warner is the no.2 theater draw and Netflix has no interest in theatrical releases.
Netflix will acquire Max. Doubtful theyll keep it long term. Anything that is going head to head with people sitting at home watching netflix is not long for this world. That would include all traditional TV. Netflix will likely just gut the entire acquisition. Hopefully the government blocks the deal. Clear antitrust issues with this one. If it does go through... 12-18 months for the merger and then whatever contracts are still in play. After that bloodbath time. |

I definitely didn't see that one coming.... and yeah, it's terrible news. In addition to what you posted, Netflix will unquestionably increase the cost to the consumer as well.
Hopefully this does NOT go through, but they'll just pay the right people in the government to do it. |

They have the money money money to grease the palms needed to push it through. And for the IP acquired here 82B is a steal.

It's kind of interesting/strange that something called Netflix is going to end up being the only media company in the world, it would like if something called Websnax ended up controlling the global food supply.

Lets not pretend like Microsoft Blizzard merger or Bethesda mergers were anyless concerning. Even the 1st Trump administration with Disney and Fox. There's a pattern and its very irrelevant whos in the white house.

Fair. I just think the majority of the world doesn't look at games as they do movies. They are both HUGE industries at this point. Despite video games generating "more revenue" it still feels as though movies are way more approachable and widely adopted. IDK, I'm not an expert in that realm at all, I can just see why "the people" wouldn't care as much about the "vidya games".

I can see how it might feel that way and it is relevant how it feels. Nearly all regulators are very old and not appreciating the size of the gaming industry is something that could favor them blocking this deal over the others. They might "feel" like the theater is more culturally significant.
The reality however is gaming has long since passed film. Film is struggling to keep its head above the water and the theater experience could very much be virtually dead in the mext 10 years. Meanwhile gaming is growing with no bubble to speak of. That said the FTC has done very little in the last 20 years, really since the Microsoft deal. I dont know if its reasonable to expect them to care about much of anything based on their track record. Maybe some slight push back that delays this deal a quarter or two...but i think thats at best. Hopefully thats just pessimism on my part. |
